The TWINNING project
The EU-funded TWINNING project “Strengthening the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in Ukraine” is a form of cooperation between the public administrations of EU Member States and their respective beneficiaries in other countries. This particular project is implemented in Ukraine by experts of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, the Danish Patent and Trademark Office and their counterparts from the State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine.
Within this project it is foreseen to analyze several Ukrainian legal acts in intellectual property field and their correspondence to the EU legislation; to organize trainings and study tours for representatives of the State Intellectual Property Service, experts of the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Industrial Property Institute", representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, as well as for those judges working in the field of intellectual property . The total duration of the project, which started in May 2014, is of 18 months. As the result of the cooperation between foreign and national experts, the effective enforcement of intellectual property rights will be strengthened, while necessary tools will be created to attract foreign investments, to transfer technologies and know-how, to comply with the legitimate rights of Ukrainian right holders.
