State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine (hereinafter – State Service) is a central body of executive power activity of which is directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine through the Minister of Education and Science, Youth and Sport of Ukraine (hereinafter – the Minister).

State Service is included into the system of executive power bodies and ensures realization of state policy in the intellectual property sphere.

In its activity State Service is governed by Constitution and laws of Ukraine, acts issued by the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, orders of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sport of Ukraine, other legislative acts of Ukraine, instructions of the President of Ukraine and the Minister.

The Ukrainian Institute of Industrial Property is a state enterprise. Priority directions of Ukrpatent activities: accepting applications for protective documents concerning any industrial property objects, examining the applications as to legal protection qualification, registering industrial property objects and conversion of their legal status as well as official publication of the appropriate information etc.

Ukrainian Center of Innovations and Patent Information Services was founded in May 2001. It is the branch office of the State Enterprise Ukrainian Industrial Property Institute. The main purpose the Center was founded for is to provide the real mechanisms of inventive and innovate activities encouragement. The functioning of the Center is concentrated on providing various services in the field of industrial property. We use widely the brand-new technologies of information supply, search engines and work organization methods.

State Enterprise "Intelzakhyst" was established in pursuance of the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science No 449 of August 6, 2002. It is based on the state ownership principles, governed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and subordinated to the State Department of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (the Department).

The enterprise was set up to improve the procedure of issuing control marks for marking copies of audiovisual works and phonograms as well as reinforce protection of intellectual property rights.
